OUR PLEDGE TO PARTICIPATE IN AN EPIC WIN FOR HUMANITY
The legacy I wish to leave for future generations is an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling human presence on Earth.
I therefore commit to invest my time, talents and resources in calling forth a global culture of freedom by February 14, 2014.
Recognizing that a global culture of freedom requires that I shift my mindset to one of responsibility and sufficiency,
I commit to being supported in letting go of any and all attachments to being a victim of circumstances believing in scarcity.
I commit to transcend any limiting thoughts such as: "I couldn't possibly participate in such a huge project"; "Yeah, right, those selfish people in power would never involve themselves in anything so useful."; "I don't believe all the different Political Parties, Tribes, Religions, IQs, Beliefs and Vested Interests would ever--in a million years, much less months--agree to collaborate on such hairball global issues."; "Besides, there are no solutions." And the top favorite of we sophisticated people, "I don't know enough."
We are all in this together. The systems level failures confronting humanity require new thinking. It is scary to change deeply-held thought patterns even when confronted with undeniable evidence that we are headed towards global tipping points that we really and truly do not want to reach.
We don't want future generations to study us and wonder how in the world we could have been in such denial. We want future generations to marvel at our courage and deeply appreciate us for facing humanity's challenges, for working together, and for implementing real and lasting solutions.
Humanity gets to go on a hero's journey. By growing and evolving, we get to play together for an Epic Win!
Global Village Commons has partnered with the FOUR YEARS. GO. Campaign by committing to create a global context of responsibility and sufficiency by 2014. We are also bringing the context of responsibility and sufficiency to the work of FOUR YEARS. GO.
IN THIS JOURNEY OF GLOBAL COLLABORATION, WE WILL:
Actively participate in being educated about the critical issues we face.
Actively participate in being supported and supporting others to make the course corrections we are being called to make.
Actively participate in communicating our successes and failures in going for this Epic Win and invite others to join us in going for this Epic Win.
Actively participate in celebrating our progress, as well as our process of learning to deal with all human viewpoints, as we make our individual contributions to this global, collaborative effort to make the profound difference that we get to come together and make.
