compelling community

Global Village Commons' solutions are deeply rooted in three decades of primary research into the mindset of responsibility and sufficiency--the transcendence of the mindset of poverty.
The mindset of poverty is comprised of two central behaviors:
Free people have realized their right to say what they have to say. Social agreements and long-standing cultural oppression have taught individuals and cultures to say what is politically and/or culturally correct. Results beyond the status quo require authentic communication.
We teach communities to speak up, stand up, and act together.
Results are produced when one invests one's time, talents and resources until the desired result is accomplished. Period.
We empower communities to rise above limiting beliefs so their investments may effectively produce their desired results.
Global Village Commons' founder, Nirvana Cable, has mastered walking individuals and communities through the minefield of deeply-held, stressful beliefs. Drawing on the tools she personally used to transform her own mindset of poverty, Nirvana can be counted on to stay the course and lead individuals and communities beyond limiting beliefs.
From 1977 to 1995, Nirvana (see her blog for the story about her name) invested her time, talents and resources in an NGO dedicated to ending world hunger, The Hunger Project.
When United Nations Member States gave up in 1995 on their promises to the children of the world made in 1990 at UN World Summit for Children, Nirvana dedicated her life to providing individuals, organizations and nations access to the context of responsibility and sufficiency - the mindset capable of profoundly impacting the big issues of our day.
Nirvana can be counted on to dig into the "no-go-zones" of people's lives for true and lasting healing. Her healing touch, and radical compassion, is benefiting hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
